IN THIS LESSON

The dragon is defeated by Michael and his angels. But that’s not the end. It descends to earth and gives power and authority to the beast rising from the sea. Its appearance is terrifying: “like a leopard, with bear’s feet and a lion’s mouth” (v. 2). Who is this beast? Why is the dragon engaged in a proxy war? What did this mean for believers in 1st-century Asia Minor, and what does it mean for us today?
