SIERRA NEVADA WINDS FALL CONCERT–“HANDS ACROSS THE SEA”
Join the Sierra Nevada Winds Orchestra on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. as the 45-member wind ensemble, directed by Dr. Robert Halseth, opens its 24th season of performances. The concert takes place at the First United Methodist Church, 3101 Colusa Highway, Yuba City 95993.
Flutist Judy Toyoda Coe is featured in Julie Giroux’s hauntingly beautiful Fantasy in French. The program also includes Malcolm Arnold’s entertaining Four Scottish Dances, Arturo Márquez’ dynamically rhythmic Danzón No. 2, Norman Dello Joio’s Fantasies on a Theme by Hayden, Ronald Lo Presti’s Elegy for a Young American, and Samuel Barber’s Sure on this Shining Night.
