Why Global Outreach?
The First United Methodist Church of Yuba City
should be in the business of MISSIONS because:
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20,
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the
age.
Paul said in Acts 10:42,
He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that
He is the one whom God appointed as the judge of the living and
the dead.
In Mark 13:10 we read,
"And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.
Again in Mark 16:15 it says,
"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the good
news to all creation.
We ourselves cannot all go, BUT we can be involved in "second
mile" giving through our financial support of Missions, covering
missionaries in prayer, corresponding with them, participating
in events that expose you to those in the mission field, and
assisting this Commission in facilitating events that encourages
our congregation to be involved in global outreach. This makes
it possible for others to spread the Word as Christ's
ambassadors and ours.
